Two of us took ourselves up to Eynsham. On the way back we took a detour up to Dukes Cut - the entrance to the Oxford Canal.
My friend Adrian wrote the following in the log:
“A lovely day pottering up the river to Eynsham and back. The day started slowly while the rain cleared, but by 12 noon we were en route. Delicious lunch, again in the rain, but all snug under canvas. Saw 2 canoeists who were paddling from Lechlade to Abingdon in one day! Nearly 40 miles. The day was great fun, more more so by our intrepid exploration of Dukes Cut - save from running aground by the depth indicator, which worked stoically as we worked out way up to the cut and back. Returned by 6pm and a beautiful evening"
